The Bakery
I’ve been baking for as long as I can remember. I come from a line of fantastic pie bakers on both sides of my family. Growing up, I don’t remember a holiday when we didn’t have at least three pies, no matter how few people were gathered. Learning how to make both delicious and beautiful pies has blossomed into a love of experimenting in the kitchen. In May of 2020, after years of baking tasty things occasionally for friends and family, I decided to turn occasionally into regularly and really focus on creating unique recipes people would love. Taking favorite desserts, drinks, or flavor combinations, I turn them into an indulgent cookie or muffin. I’ve also branched out into danish, babka, breads, and other items, making everything from scratch. Of course, I still make holiday pies.
The Goods
I love to create. When I’m not baking, I’m working on art or crafting. Making a construction paper house complete with doors, furniture, and toilet paper in the bathrooms is one of my earliest, most creative memories. My first pie was definitely made of play dough. I began my official art career in high school, making dichroic glass jewelry and selling at art festivals and craft bazaars. Soon after I learned to knit and took up painting. Crochet and candle making joined the list, followed by weaving, cross stitch, and embroidery. Although I’ve never enjoyed traditional art classes, learning new skills is a hobby in itself.
The Ginger
I am Suzanne, and I currently live in Bloomington, Indiana, with my husband and two sons. I run my home bakery out of our kitchen, and have a studio to create all of my handmade goods.
